Embassy of India in Beirut Commemorates Tagore’s 165th Birth Anniversary at Gibran Museum
The Embassy of India in Beirut, in collaboration with the Gibran National Committee and Gibran Museum, organized a cultural event on May 7, 2026, at the Gibran Museum in Bsharri to commemorate the 165th birth anniversary of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore and celebrate his historic friendship with Gibran Khalil Gibran.
The event was attended by prominent figures including Mr. Fady Rahme, Mr. Joseph Geagea, and representatives from Bcharre municipality, alongside members of the Indian community and friends of India.
His Excellency Md. Noor Rahman Sheikh highlighted the shared values of peace, dialogue, and human connection reflected in the legacy of Tagore and Gibran.
The evening also featured musical performances by opera singer Maria Matar, a photo exhibition of Tagore’s paintings, and a cultural gathering celebrating the friendship between India and Lebanon.
